Ok... I admit it... I've been so busy that I've been neglecting my blog. The holiday rush is now over. I have big plans for the new year. Including revamping my blog and web site. I'm so blessed to have wonderful family, friends and clients. I can't wait for an exciting and busy 2010.

What to Wear Wednesday (on Thurs.)

The weather is getting cooler but it's still a perfect time to take outdoor photos. The key to great pictures is bright colors and layers. Here are some examples from some of my favorite stores. I have been buying my kids clothes from Naartjie for years. I love the quality and colors. Plus they have tons of stuff to mix and match.

This next picture is of Matilda Jane outfits. I LOVE Matilda Jane. I love that they are located in Indiana. Ft.Wayne to be exact. The question I get asked the most is "what should we wear to our session"? Here is a great example of how to coordinate outfits. These looks are all from the Gap website. I first selected the striped dress and then selected outfits for the rest of the family. Watch my blog for What to Wear Wednesdays for more ideas.

Yeah!! Studio Space!!

I've found an awesome studio space! I won't be taking any appointments for the next few weeks in order to give myself time to decorate and prepare my studio. Please bear with me if I'm slow in responding to emails. I'm going to be located in the Halls of Justice building in Crown Point. The building has some very unique shooting locations. I can't wait to try them out. Wish me luck!!

PS... I'll be announcing my Christmas Card promotion soon. I've decided to offer two locations this year and have created some really neat new templates.

What a Crazy Week!

It's been a very busy week for us. The kids all went back to school and my youngest son started kindergarten. I'm so excited to have extra time during the day. Tomorrow I'm going to check out some studio space in downtown Crown Point. I'm hoping to have a spot to shoot inside this winter.

Sweet Baby Madison

Why Silly Goose?

I use the term "Silly Goose" with my kids all the time. Like "quit acting like a silly goose" or "oh, you silly goose". I just really like the phrase. It's usually not something you would say to an adult. I also like geese. Have you seen GMFL written on anything. Sometimes people get it inscribed inside their wedding bands. It stands for Geese Mate for Life. Isn't that cool! Look at these guys... arn't they cute?

I can't wait for this evening. Glen and I are going to visit one of my oldest and dearest friends and her family. It's so nice to connect with someone from your past. Someone who was actually there when you were a kid and understands completely what you're talking about when you tell those crazy stories. I can't believe how many old friends I've gotten back in touch with thanks to facebook. Some of them even live really close. What a Happy Saturday!

I can't believe that Karlie is 12 today. Where does the time go? Next year she'll be a teenager. I just got back from the grocery store where I picked up cupcakes and 12 mylar balloons. In a few weeks we are celebrating by going to see Blue Man Group in Chicago.

Moving On Over

I had my blog somewhere else and wasn't very happy. I've moved over here and have high expectations! Today is one of those rainy, gloomy days. This will give me something to do. I was hoping to take Karlie to the park today for some new photos. I guess that's not happening. I saw the cutest shirt on a little boy today. It said "Lock Up Your Daughters". I'm on a quest to find one for Ian. I also discovered a wonderful web site today. It is www.etsy.com They have tons of really neat handmade stuff.
